I was on my walk at lunch and passed by a playground in the park near my house. Nearly a year ago, I visited this park at night and let Russ run around freely in the sand. He was having a great time after a very stressful week of moving and change. I, too, let myself have fun for a night and was running throughout the playground.
My brother was calling me to one of the turrets and as I ran in the dark towards him, I didn’t look up to see the low entrance. I slammed my head straight into solid wood resulting in a very haunting sound. I immediately felt as if I would throw up and everything around me was spinning.
I couldn’t see straight for three days after. My head ached and I felt dizzy constantly. I kept working and pushed on. I wouldn’t see a doctor despite feeling like garbage.
When I passed the playground, I thought about that night. I thought about how different I felt now and how much has happened since that night.
